You have stumbled upon a group of failures (Psalm 51:3-4). Though we have enjoyed success in many areas of life, we recognize our failure in the one area that matters most- purity before God. Fortunately, that is not the end of our story. We have been born again (1 Pet. 1:3; John 3:5). Jesus Christ made it possible for us to die to sin and be “raised to walk in newness of life” (Rom. 6:3-4). Truly, we are “new creatures” in Christ (2 Cor. 5:17). Helpless to save ourselves, we were saved by God’s “grace through faith” (Rom. 5:6; Eph. 2:8).
Now, our lives have been transformed from selfishly devoted to ourselves to wholly committed to the service of Christ and others (Rom. 12:1-2; Gal. 2:20). We say with Paul, ”the love of Christ controls us” (2 Cor. 5:14). Though we sometimes fail and must seek forgiveness, we try to show our gratitude for salvation and the hope of heaven by completely devoting ourselves to accomplishing God’s will in our lives, this community, and throughout the world.
Our hope is that we are not just “another church.” In fact, you could say we hope you think we’re a bit “strange.” Why? Because we believe there is an ungodly trend among churches to cater to the people rather than God. Are we saying our way is better? No. We’re saying our ways are worthless (Jer. 10:23; Isa. 55:8-9)! We simply want to be a church that, first and foremost, pleases God by humbly submitting to his ways. If that is what you are seeking, we hope you will come and visit us!
