Joe Shane

Joe Shane has been our evangelist since November 1, 2014. He began preaching full time in July of 1977. Joe has preached in West Virginia, Indiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. He has also made many trips to Southeast Asia to share the Gospel of Christ. Joe and his wife Connie have been married almost 50 years. They have four grown children, eleven grandchildren and now great-grandchildren as well.

Here are a few thoughts from Joe.

Connie and I lived here in Cullman County for eleven years before going to Florida. She and I both feel Cullman is our adopted hometown. We feel blessed to be back in Cullman, now working with the Highway 157 church. There is a true family atmosphere with the church, and we are so glad to be a part of it.

My desire is to simply share Christ with others. In my Sunday sermons, I hope for three things. First, the lessons are true to God’s Word. Second, they encourage us all to live a better life in our walk with God. And third, when necessary admonish, yes even rebuke, us in a spirit of love to remove sin from our lives.

I enjoy talking to both young and old about the saving grace of God. Our hope starts with Ephesians 2:8 and the promise of salvation by the grace of God. John 3:16 has a much deep meaning to it then seeing it posted on a card at some sporting event. Also, one of my favorite passages is I Corinthians 10:13, and it too speaks to God’s grace, but we seldom think of this verse that way. Please read and consider the great promise in this verse. May we all seek God’s blessings in our lives.

I would be more than happy to talk to you. Just leave a message on our phone, (256) 615-1088 or email me at preacher@highway157church.com, and I will get back to you as quickly as possible.
